3 Lessons from Rebirth 2022
On soul conversations, the true purpose of intentions, and nourishing your nervous system
Aloha Lovelies,
I recently participated in Rebirth 2022, an annual new year’s program of teachings from Lee Harris, an energy intuitive, and his spirit guides, fondly called “The Z’s.”
I’m so glad I did.
At least in my adult life, I’ve always been open to intuitive guidance. If it helps, why not? As in all areas of my life, I use discernment. I don’t follow anyone. But if I feel called, I listen.
I don’t consider Harris or The Z’s enlightened beings. But I benefit from the highly practical advice they offer for navigating this human life, especially in these radically changing and often chaotic times.
Here are three of my favorite lessons from the program this year. This is just a glimpse of what inspired me.
Lesson 1: The Power of Soul Conversations
Lee and the Z’s highly recommended engaging in conversations with your soul.
What is a soul conversation? It can be as simple as asking your soul:
“What would you like me to do today?”
Is there anything you want to tell me today?
Or you can also ask deeper questions like:
“What’s the right direction for me?”
“Should I share advice with this person or remain quiet?”
Then pause and listen.
Ideally, your soul or higher self will respond. The information you receive might be basic and minimal at first. It takes time to calibrate to the frequency of the soul. You’ll receive more information in time.
I don’t really know if we’re retrieving information from the soul, the higher self, or another part of the brain. But if the information is helpful, I’m happy to receive it.
I always find it beneficial to pause and listen more deeply when it comes to important steps in my life.
Lee and the Z’s say regular soul conversations:
Bring balance
Allow magic to happen
Help you feel lighter because they change your vibrational energy
Most of us seem to go way too fast. We rarely take time to connect with the deeper part of ourselves or quietly reflect on what’s truly important.
I deeply appreciate this nudge from Lee and the Z’s. I want to spend more time in conversations with my soul. Maybe you do too.
Lesson 2: The Real Purpose of Setting Intentions
Most of us associate setting intentions or goals with achieving outcomes.
But Lee’s and the Z’s have an entirely different take on it. They say it’s about the journey not the destination.
Writing intentions down on a piece of paper or on a computer page helps because:
Doing so makes our intentions more real.
When you read an intention back, it often sparks a reaction or a habitual emotional pattern like, “I’ll never be able to do this.” It shows you where you’re stuck, where you need to heal.
Then you have an opportunity to work with what needs healing in you. So, never judge yourself for whatever thoughts and emotions arise in response to the intentions you set. Be grateful for the information and focus on the deeper healing they suggest.
But you only change when your soul is ready. And working on the deeper healing will bring you closer to achieving your intentions or setting ones that are more resonant.
Lesson 3: Nourish Your Nervous System
Ask yourself:
“What lights me up?”
Identify when you feel calm, alive, and at peace. Do that activity or non-activity at least thirty minutes a day. It might be reading a book that temporarily takes you into another world. Your ego-mind might say it’s escapism or numbing. Don’t listen!
Decide this thirty minutes is non-negotiable. You need it. It’s your happy place.
It’s not necessarily about the book or the particular activity you choose.
It’s about training your body and mind to be at peace and joy for thirty minutes a day. Your nervous system needs this.
Give yourself over to something you enjoy for thirty minutes or more each day.
This advice especially resonated with me. I have a few activities I engage in that my ego-mind wants to judge as a “waste of time.” But they definitely feed me. It’s a relief to have someone give me permission to enjoy myself.
I hope one of these lessons resonates with you too. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Until Next Time
I feel horrified by the Russian invasion of the Ukraine and the indiscriminate violence Russian is perpetuating upon its people.
Initially, I had moments of depression. But I shook it off. I realized I need to be beacon for peace, love, compassion, wisdom, and truth in my own small way.
I keep Ukraine in my consciousness as much as possible, saying protective mantras and praying for a swift resolution to this war.
I don't think that’s enough on its own. Whatever else we can do, protest, boycott, and send money to Ukrainian relief funds, please let’s do it.
Thank you for reading!
