Bring Your Inner Child Along in 2022!
4 deep questions that will round out your intentions for the year
Aloha Lovelies,
Have you ever considered including your inner child in your intentions for the year?
I hadn’t until my dear friend Jill shared four self-exploration questions she had crafted for Imbolc. In the Goddess tradition, Imbolc occurs midway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox—February 2 this year. At this time, light begins to emerge after the darkness of winter, bringing with it hope for all that is to come.
On the Wheel of Time, Imbolc relates to early childhood — four years and younger.
Our tender inner child often holds our inner wounds, which can be the reason why, even as adults, we react with resistance, overwhelm, and anxiety. At the same time, the inner child can be the source of joy, wonderment, and the will to live.
There is so much we can learn about ourselves from our inner child. Consider including her in your intentions for the year. Delve into these deep questions created by dear Jill. Answer them from the perspective of your four-year old or younger child.
Did you wish or yearn for something you didn’t have? If so, what was it?
Was there ever something you wished you could change about your life? What was it?
How did you dream about your future? Or what did you dream about your future?
If you can’t remember a childhood wish or yearning from those earliest years, try to imagine what that child might have wished or yearned for.
I don’t have memories from those early years. But on considering these questions, these three qualities came to mind:
Love
Acceptance
Peace
How can I bring these qualities alive in my life now for both my inner child and myself? I will weave ways to do so into my intentions for the year.
And, I’ll continue to reflect on these four questions for a few more days because they are deep. Who knows what else might emerge.
We can also use the time of Imbolc to consider how we’ll bring positive childlike qualities into our year—wonder, joy, playfulness and any others that come to your mind.
Are your intentions or goals all about nose to the grindstone? Here’s your chance to inject more fun into year!

Until Next Time
I took the entire month of January to gently form my intentions for the year. I’ve also let go of the idea of goals as something I absolutely must accomplish. Instead, I see them more as ways to learn more about myself as I continue through this journey called life.
That’s a wrap on goals for the coming year. I hope this e-letter along with my previous ones on setting goals and intentions have helped or inspired you in some way. If you missed the previous ones, you can find them here:

Until next time, stay safe, be happy, and let your love flow. Sending you all my love and best wishes.
