Your advice here is so clear and so useful. I imagine most of us who have been on a spiritual path for a while, would agree with just about every point. I also imagine that most of us would be glad for the reminders even if we are already trying to live this way, because we so often fall short.
Kamsin, You're welcome! I agree; it's always a good idea to make sure things are on the right track; otherwise, we could end up having regrets. Thanks for connecting.
Sandra, I like the idea that we don't have to overhaul our entire lives in one go. Sometimes clearing just one small corner, inside or out, can change how the whole day feels. Wishing you gentler days ahead as you navigate these pain flares.
Perfect list at the perfect time, Sandra. As you may remember, I'm going on a solo yoga & art retreat soon; I'll bring this list with me to consider when I'm fully detached from my typical surroundings. Nameste. 🧘♀️
I don't do any kind of planned reset. I usually come to an intuitive realization that something is out of balance and needs to shift. At the moment I'm in some big life shifts and I'm not pushing for answers so much as I'm doing a lot of small steps and noticing where they're leading me.
Sometimes I get anxious and feel like I need an answer right away. But over the years I've learned the answers emerge when I need them and I can be patient and enjoy where I'm at.
Never thought I'd sound so "zen" because I've always been someone who gets stuff done but when we allow it to, experience really does offer wise perspective. A gift of aging.
Judy, I love how well you know yourself, how you pay attention to your intuitive realizations and adjust your life accordingly. Experimenting with small steps can be a powerful approach that feels less threatening. Thank you for reminding us that the answers come from within, and sometimes we need patience to allow them to emerge in their own time. That's just an important addition to this conversation. Much gratitude. 🙏
Thank you for this reminder, I've done this in past years, but it might have slepped past me this year were it not for your nudge. I'm in a very introspective time of my life (that means I'm spending 80-90% of my time alone instead of 50-60%!) Oddly enough and no pun intended, I found as I looked over my notes. I had checked #1,#3, #5 and #7 for further exploration. You always seem to find me wherever I am, and encourage me to move a little bit out of that comfort zone. Thank you for continuing to write, even if life demands less frequency.
Joelle, thank you for your deeply kind words. I'm grateful this piece met you where you are and opened the door for further exploration. It sounds like a bit of review fits perfectly with your introspective mood. I appreciate your presence and support over the years.
Love this idea of doing a mid-year reset. And it is a great idea to focus on one area at a time.
I've personally found creating a space for emotional declutter on a specific issue extremely helpful. The process may not be pleasant at first but what unfolds is usually a stronger sense of self. It is why I advocate doing inner work very much!
Evelyn, I’m so glad you love this idea. Thanks for sharing your personal experience of creating space for an emotional declutter and how it can be unpleasant at first but so helpful in the end. Many thanks for your support.

Thank you, Tahm! That’s so true. It seems like there’s always a little more we can do to live with attention and intention. I appreciate your support.
I am so sorry your pain has flared again, Sandra, and hope that your healing will kick in again soon - and stay!
Cathy, thank you for that wonderful wish! I’m exploring a new modality for calming the brain. Perhaps that will help. Wishing you a beautiful Sunday.
🤞💖🤞
Thank you for these. Always a good reminder to make sure things are on the correct course.

Lisa, I'm so glad! Enjoy your retreat time. Sounds fabulous and like the perfect time to consider a mid-year reset from a quiet mind.

We're on the same wavelength again, Sandra. I appreciate when that happens.
We are! Thanks for your support, Paulette! ❤️

I'm saving this to read later, Sandra. I know it will be good coming from you. Xo
