Sandra, meditating seems challenging to me. I prefer hobbies which put me in the same meditative state. I like making collages or crystal brooches. Coloring in adult books also sounds like fun! Thanks a lot for your tips! 🙌

Incorporating mindfulness into things you’re already doing is my favorite method. It’s so helpful to break the autopilot cycle.

Love these suggestions! I’m bad about looking at my phone in the morning. Will definitely try the wonderful practice you suggested. Cleaning, too. I hate cleaning and tend to rush through, but thinking of it as a chance to practice mindfulness is something I want to be more diligent about!

Suzanne, I'm so glad! It's so tempting to look at our phones in the mornings. But I find it much more calming to my nervous system when I don't. Good luck with this!

It sounds like you created a habit of mindfulness, which is quite inspiring. I am still very much at the remind myself as needed stage. ☺️

Thanks for the suggestions, Sandra, on how to be mindful throughout the day. Vacuuming is my mindful chore. I don't enjoy it, But everything shifted when I decided to make it a part of my practice.

Life can feel challenging with so many tasks, so playing with the chore as a practice lightened the load a bit.

This has been a stressful winter for me, Sandra, since I am not really able to walk much or shovel snow and deal with ice as I once used to be able to do. I have had to depend upon people to help and my neighbors did get the walks shoveled but our cars were iced in until someone from church came by and saw that we needed some real ice removal, which I used to be able to do by myself. We finally got out just in time for another snow/ice event and a huge deep freeze for the next week after that. But this time, I am fully stocked up and am less stressed than I was. I am also trying to keep the pipes from freezing in our little house and the even smaller rental next door. I do have some bedtime and awakening practices that help, and it looks like I will need to do a few things during the day, as well. Thanks for some ideas! <3

Jean, That sounds so stressful! My heart is with you. I'm glad you are fully stocked up for the current freeze so you can relax more. I'm inspired that you already have practices in place in the morning and evening that help you. I hope one or two of these ideas will help as well. Sending a big hug! Sandra
